The organizers of Art Palm Beach invited The Janis Project to join them this year January 18-22.
In October, 2016, The Janis Project was invited in its entirety to exhibit at the Art Students League of New York City. This was the first time that all of the inflatables were installed in the same room. A lecture was also given explaining the process and the meaning behind the project.

The Janis Project’s next stop was Philadelphia’s PAFA on Broad Street. Multiple sculptures were on display outside in the Lenfest Plaza and inside the Academy Museum from September 27-29. On September 28th at 6 pm a few more will be on display during PAFA’s After Dark lecture, which will featured a talk about this and other projects.
Chicago’s Loop Alliance has invited all the inflatables from The Janis Project to be part of this year’s Activate. Look for them at the Hyatt Centric and the Kimpton Gray Hotels and other sites on Monroe Street Thursday, September 15th.

Outside the Box3 at Whitespace – The Mordes Collection

Exhibition Dates: Friday & Saturday, April 1 – 2, 2016, 7:30p – 10:30 pm
OUTSIDE THE BOX 3 is the third biennial to be hosted by Elayne Mordes at her perfectly situated scenic waterfront site Whitespace, in Palm Beach, which also houses her enviable international collection. 43 proposals were selected to interact with the unique landscape & outdoor environment. This temporary outdoor art happening will take place April 1 & 2, 2016, as part of the closing weekend festivities of Whitespace-The Mordes Collection’s annual show.
The distinctive and alternative format of the exhibit asks artists to propose a temporary work, suitable for outdoors that will respond creatively to the site, or be interactive in nature. The installations should interrelate with the unique landscape & outdoor environment and involve their own lighting elements. Attendees will view the accumulated spectacle of forms, colors, lights, and sounds on the lake waterfront, marshy beach, and find installations within the grass, bushes or trees, and around the building and wrap around tarmac.
Janis will travel to Key West, Florida as part of the Currents and Confluences: A Symposium of Art + Ideas. Hosted by New York’s Art Student League and The Studios of Key West, the symposium runs March 3-5, 2015 and will feature an exhibition featuring Edgar Heap of Birds, Aurora Robson and Frederick Brosen and conversations and talks with Katherine Manthorne and James McElhinney.
